“The Crow” on his flying start to the new season!

Adam Roscrow on getting off the mark for Wimbledon

2 September 2020

Adam Roscrow spoke about the importance of notching his first AFC Wimbledon goal last night – and he was quick to thank the management team for their support.

The striker’s first competitive goal for Wimbledon comes 15 months after he signed for us from Welsh Premier League side Cardiff Met.

After keeping his cool in front of goal last night, “The Crow” also coped well in his post-match interview with a few very apt sound effects in the background from team-mate Shane McLoughlin!

On his landmark goal, Adam said: “It’s been a long time coming. I was getting close towards the end of last season, but we all know what happened after that. It was important for me to get off to that start. I was absolutely buzzing and all the boys and the staff were buzzing for me too – it was a great start. I probably could have had a couple more, but the pleasing thing is to get at least that one in the back of the net. The win was the most important thing.

“The management team have worked really hard with me, as they have with all the boys. I can only thank them and it was nice to get that start in the first game. I didn’t put too much pressure on myself anyway. I knew it would come eventually, but I’m obviously pleased that the monkey is off my back in the first game. Hopefully, I can kick on and get a few more now.”
