Harrison offers another option for the run-in

Forward marked his return with a goal

23 April 2021

Shayon Harrison put the ankle injury that derailed his start to life at AFC Wimbledon fully behind him last night – and Rob Tuvey said that he offers another attacking option for the run-in.

Shayon struck a late winner at Plough Lane last night after a plucky challenge from Balham in the London Senior Cup.

Speaking afterwards, Rob Tuvey, who took charge of the team for this match, said: “It was great to see Terell and Shayon get minutes. Shayon got on the scoresheet, though I don’t know how much he knew about it! He’s definitely an option now with getting through those 30 minutes. He probably needs a little bit more training, an extra week or so, and hopefully we can get another round of this in (London Senior Cup) to boost his minutes, but he’s available for selection so it gives us more options moving into Saturday. It’s also great to have Terell around the squad because he’s such an important player and such a big character.”

Straight after the game, Shayon said: “It was probably the easiest goal I will ever score! You just have to be ready, be on your toes, and thankfully it bounced off me and went in. I felt really good and I’m getting sharper in every session. I’m looking forward to helping the squad at the back end of this season. I want to get as sharp as I can and be ready for when the team needs me.”
