Joe on ticketing issues

12 August 2021

Joe Palmer addresses some of the ticketing issues.

Saturday's historic game against Bolton is already a sell-out but unfortunately some of our fans have experienced ticketing problems as we count down to our proper Plough Lane homecoming.

In the video below, our chief executive Joe Palmer explains why there have been some issues beyond our control - and unreservedly apologises to any supporters who have encountered problems.

Joe said: "Saturday is going to be a full house, which is fantastic news. However, we are very aware of the ticketing issues experienced by some fans and that's obviously disappointing for all of us."

"We sincerely apologise to those fans who  have been affected. It's certainly not something we wanted but a lot of it was because we are at the mercy of our providers and partners on ticketing and access control.

"One of the biggest problems has been the delivery of season ticket cards which didn't arrive in time to distribute to fans ahead of our first match, having been assured they would. To get round this, we had to get tickets for Saturday’s match, and the following home match against Gillingham, sent directly to online accounts instead.

"We are now doing everything we can to see what our ticketing providers are doing to rectify the situation. We're also looking at the usability of our site. Some fans have found it difficult to navigate and we absolutely have to respect that, and look at finding ways of making it easier for people."

"We will get to the bottom of it as quickly as possible so fans don't continue to have problems."
