AFC Wimbledon would like to introduce Vintage Fishery as the sponsors of our Family Zone for the 21/22 Season.
The company are a family-owned business specialising in traditional fish and chips making the sponsorship a seamless fit. Originally based in Wimbledon, Vintage Fishery has expanded its outreach acquiring a further shop in Blackheath. Moreover, Vintage Fishery has recently developed into its unique 1960’s style by adding an an in-house fishmonger into the business, setting the bar high against it competitors. The company prides itself on serving high quality, traditional fish & chips and have been doing so since 1999. On the menu, you will find a combination of modern tastes and traditional classics such as Whitebait and Salmon Fishcakes, Halibut and Haddock.
The owner of the company, Huseyin Ozdemir, commented on the partnership “We first move to Wimbledon in 1986 and I have been a Wimbledon fan since. My family were devastated by the decision in 2002 to move Wimbledon, however we are very glad that football is back home at Plough Lane. At Vintage Fishery, we will continue our support for the Dons through DLAG, and now finally as an official partner.”
Commercial Director and frequent customer, Ivor Heller, added “As a lad, I remember walking home via Leopold Road where the company originally started. I regularly bought from Huseyin Dad’s shop, and I find it amazing that so many years down the line we have once again crossed paths. Vintage Fishery is a small local business and I love the fact they are able to get involved in the club.”
He went on to say “The company is synonymous with every reason why we re-started AFC Wimbledon. They are a great local asset and I look forward to developing this relationship throughout the season.”
The Vintage Fish and Chip shop van will be located at the stadium on every home fixture for the foreseeable future.
