Ollie given the green light to take on Wycombe

An extensive chat with our Head Coach

Mark Robinson said that Ollie Palmer has been given the all clear to spearhead the attack at Adams Park on Saturday, as the Dons seek to upset the joint League One leaders.

Robbo reported that our in-form striker has had no repercussions from playing 90 minutes at Accrington with positive results having been received from a scan on his quad.

“Ollie is okay,” confirmed Robbo, ahead of the trip to Wycombe. “We had a hiccup with Aaron on Tuesday and we couldn’t name him on the bench, but he has come through training. We didn’t really have another forward option on Tuesday, unless we put someone like Egli or Rudi through the middle. Ollie had to play the full 90 minutes, but I think the nature of the game with lots of delays – balls going out for throw-ins a lot – we didn’t quite cover the ground that we normally would. All the running stats were not as high as they normally would be.

“Ollie’s scan was completely clear. There was no actual tear there, but it’s just something we have to keep an eye on. We’ve got the game on Saturday, but then we have a week leading up to Portsmouth, so everything should be fine.

“All players want to play, so that’s why I asked Tim to do the scan nice and early so that there was no doubt. Psychologically that helps a player because he knows that there’s no doubt.”

Due to illness, centre-back Dan Csoka is doubtful for Saturday's match at Wycombe.
