We regret to inform you that our New Year’s Day fixture at Plymouth Argyle has now been cancelled due to Covid.
Plymouth were due to host Portsmouth tomorrow (Wednesday) but that game has been postponed this afternoon by the EFL, with Argyle unable to field sufficient first-team players.
As you will all be aware, this is now our third game to be called off in this manner. In each instance, our opponents informed the EFL they were unable to field a team because of Covid.
We have already made our feelings public about this problem and the fixture congestion we are now facing.
We will not be making any further comment, other than to say we completely share our fans’ frustration and disappointment. We will be in touch with those supporters who purchased tickets for the Plymouth game as soon as we physically can.
In the meantime, we are pleased to confirm tomorrow’s away game at Oxford is still going ahead.
