Throwback Thursday! That thriller versus Cheltenham

Wimbledon take on the Robins this Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup

2 December 2021

It's over seven years since the Dons were involved in an absolute thriller versus Cheltenham Town.

The game on 22 March 2014 will never be forgotten by those in attendance as the Dons came from behind to win 4-3 - the victory including a scoring spree of three goals in less than three minutes!

The win was overshadowed by matters off the pitch with the three points deducted due to goalscorer Jake Nicholson's registration having not been processed in time, but it was an incredible afternoon at our old stadium and well worth watching again!

After falling 2-0 down just before half-time, Danny Hylton's double and Nicholson's deflected strike put the Dons in front. When Jason Taylor fired Cheltenham level it appeared that the Dons would have to settle for a point, but Jack Midson had other ideas, striking a 97th minute winner.
