After 10,863 days it's finally happened - we've officially got all the keys to all the doors to our Plough Lane home!
The last time our first team played at our original home was on May 4, 1991, but now the long, long struggle to have our own stadium, back where we really belong, is over. Plough Lane is truly in our own hands!
The brilliant and emotional video below shows the historic moment when the stadium’s constructors, Buckingham, handed over bundles of keys to our chief executive, Joe Palmer, at the end of January. There are still snagging, clean up and some small variation works that Buckingham are continuing with and we wanted to wait a couple of weeks so that we could get cleaner and better shots of the stadium for the video.
The video reminds us why the hand over is such a milestone in our incredible story and why it belongs alongside all the other defining moments on our club's amazing timeline.
So take a look at the video - but be warned. We confidently predict there won't be a dry eye in the house!
We are Wimbledon, We are Back and above all else, We Are Home.
