Our fans have quickly warmed to new midfielder Luke McCormick in the heat of his first two pre-season appearances, and the new signing from Chelsea has been enthused with how Robbo’s plans are taking shape.
We caught up with Luke again for an in-depth chat at the training ground, ahead of tonight’s match at Hampton & Richmond and before Saturday’s game at Dartford. He’s excited at the prospect of working with young Moroccan talent Ayoub Assal and “picking the brains” of the experienced Darius Charles.
Luke also had praise for our Academy youngsters Ollie Downs, Kai Jennings and Nana Kuffour, who came on and helped get us over the line to victory at Met Police in midweek.
Even though Luke joined us from the champions of Europe, he’s well aware of the plight facing many non-league clubs in the face of the current global pandemic – with a younger brother who plays at that level. He’s hoping supporters can make it along to our next three games and swell the gates as much as possible against non-league opposition.
