AFC Wimbledon are currently top of the leader board in a fitness race for charity that pitches together 15 London clubs.
‘Race the Euros’ got underway earlier this month with teams competing to be the first club to cover the 6,720 miles that separate all the Euro 2021 host cities. And our tireless representatives from AFC Wimbledon have wasted no time clocking up the miles! The Dons currently top the leader board with Charlton as our nearest challenges.
We’ve entered five teams with kids from our academy, representatives from the women’s section, members of Dons Local Action group, Club staff , and Foundation staff (the picture above shows Andy May and Phil Rudling at Plough Lane before taking part in the challenge).
Each team has 23 players, who log up miles by taking part in over 70 different activities such as running, swimming, cycling, football, workouts at home and walking (subject to government guidelines).
All the funds raised will support our Foundation’s brilliant work in response to the COVID Pandemic, as well as helping the most disadvantaged communities in Merton and Wandsworth.
