Loan watch: Dons defender has a day to remember

The latest on our young Dons in action elsewhere

Isaac Ogundere had plenty of reasons to celebrate and a day to remember on Saturday.

The defender (pictured), who shares the same birthdate with teammate and fellow loanee Kwaku Frimpong, helped keep a clean sheet and came up with an assist in Leatherhead’s 2-0 victory at East Thurrock United in the Isthmian Premier.

There weren't that many opportunities for young Dons on loan elsewhere at the weekend.

Defender Jack Currie was part of the Eastbourne Borough side that beat Chelmsford City 2-1 at Priory Lane, in National League South.

Former AFC Wimbledon youngster Emmanuel Mensah gave Corinthian-Casuals the lead against Enfield Town. However, Elliott Bolton was booked eight minutes from time in a 2-1 defeat at King George’s Field in the Isthmian Premier.

Winger Dylan Adjei-Hersey played the full game for Merstham, who lost 1-0 at Hornchurch in the same division.
