Our young midfielders Elliott Bolton and Alfie Bendle helped to create club history for Corinthian Casuals last night.
Bolton (pictured) scored a superb goal for his loan club, and Bendle also played an important midfield role, as Casuals earned a 3-0 Emirates FA Cup replay win at Wingate & Finchley. It means that Casuals are in the fourth qualifying round – just one step from the first round proper – for the first time since 1983!
Casuals will host St Albans City in the next round.
Meanwhile, our young strikers Corie Andrews and Aaron Cosgrave both made their mark in a match between their respective loan clubs. Andrews set up the opening goal for Aldershot, but Cosgrave struck the equaliser for Dover, before Andrews played a part in the move that created the winning goal for Toby Edser, the Shots earning a 2-1 victory.
Jack Currie played the full 90 minutes for Eastbourne Borough as they were eliminated from the FA Cup after a 1-0 home defeat by Horsham.
