Injury update on Paul Kalambayi

Centre-back faces spell on the sidelines

26 October 2021

It has been confirmed that Paul Kalambayi will be out for three months after scans revealed the extent of the injury that he suffered on Saturday.

The defender was withdrawn during the second-half of the 2-0 defeat at home to Wigan, and our Assistant Head Coach Rob Tuvey confirmed that it is not good news.

“Paul will be out for three months with a knee-related injury," said Rob. "It is his MCL (medial collateral ligament), so we are still consulting with the specialists about the best way to deal with it. Paul is a massive part of the squad, and we wish him well. He will stay around the squad as much as possible to support the lads.

“He’s in good spirits, and he’s a bubbly character. Paul has been with us at the training ground in recent days, so we’ve got to keep supporting him at this difficult time.”

All at AFC Wimbledon wish Paul well in his recuperation.
