The campaign to celebrate our glorious history with a timeline in the West Stand has gathered pace with our first-team players throwing their weight behind it!
Robbo and the boys have answered the call to help support the plans of WiSH (Wimbledon in Sporting History). This timeline will celebrate the unique history of Wimbledon FC / AFC Wimbledon, taking people on a journey from our formation on Wimbledon Common in 1889 to our arrival back at Plough Lane in 2020. It will consist of some truly iconic images from our unique history, and you can be a part of the timeline by pledging just £10!
The campaign has captured the imagination of Robbo and the players.
“We continuously show that we are different in everything we do, and we want this one club mentality,” said Robbo. “It’s important that the players and staff are part of it. Some people may think that the players may not be here for that long, but we want the mentality that when you come into the club, no matter how long you are here for, then you are part of what we are trying to achieve.
“We had a meeting, and we want to get involved with this as players and staff. When I came along to see the opening of the museum it was great, and it showed that we are growing as a club. We ask a lot of our fans, but it would be great if they could give a little bit more, just to help us to grow as a football club.”
As well as iconic images, there will also be integrated QR codes, which will allow people to access archive highlights and interviews.
