Our new stadium is without doubt one of the most amazing achievements any group of fans has managed to deliver.
Sometimes it's difficult to contemplate that we were responsible for every brick, blade of grass and seat in this wonderful stadium.
Like every new home, it takes a while to settle in, to make it feel truly yours. For example, there are a lot of walls crying out for pictures and that's where WiSH comes in!
WiSH (Wimbledon in Sporting History) are looking to create a timeline experience in the west stand concourse. This timeline will celebrate the glorious history of Wimbledon FC / AFC Wimbledon, taking people on a journey from our formation on Wimbledon Common in 1889 to our arrival back at Plough Lane in 2020. You will be able to experience the many highs and few lows this amazing club has gone through.
As well as some truly iconic images, there will also be integrated QR codes, which will allow people to access archive highlights and interviews.
To make this happen, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched. But this is different. If you contribute as little as £10 your image (or an image of your choosing) will be part of the timeline in a photo montage.
You can submit any image you like celebrating your support of AFC Wimbledon / Wimbledon FC (within reason!) This could be a picture of you cheering on the Dons at old Plough Lane, standing amongst fans at an away day or celebrating one of our Wembley wins. You can submit a family picture, one with your friends, or that time you were a mascot in the 80's!. You can even take this opportunity to submit an image celebrate the life of a loved one who is no longer with us.
Once the funds are raised you will receive a link where you can upload your pictures.
Details of the crowdfunding campaign and how to make your donations can be found on a crowdfunding site which is now live. Visit this page to make a donation.
Please do sign up! AFC Wimbledon is proudly a fans’ club, and this stadium timeline is a fantastic opportunity to reinforce that tradition – for everyone to share and be part of our living history.
