David Kawa marked his first start in four months with a goal on Saturday in a resounding victory for our Under-18s.

David (pictured) returned from injury to get on the scoresheet in a 7-1 league win for the young Dons with Marcel Campbell striking a double and Quaine Bartley, Ben Mason, and Morgan Williams also on target. There was also an own goal as the Dons made the most of their superiority after taking just a 2-1 lead into the break.

Speaking after the emphatic home victory, manager James Oliver-Pearce said: “Overall, I’m really pleased with a lot of elements of our play. You have to be happy to be that dominant in an Under-18s game. Scoring seven sounds really pleasing and it is, but we need to look at the areas of our performance where we could do better. David Kawa, who got his first minutes last week after injury, started his first game back and he scored. Isaac Olaniyan was also back for the first time in a number of months.

“I just want to make sure that there’s a team behind the team. Jenna Richards, Liam, and the rest of the team have been brilliant in making sure that their recoveries are looked after, and they are able to come back into the side and compete due to their fitness levels and mindsets. That’s a credit to them.”
