Yesterday we announced our new stadium sponsors and now we'd like to pay a special tribute to another immensely-valued partner - Reston Waste Management.
It's no secret they made an extremely generous offer for the naming rights to our new stadium.
After much debate, we ultimately decided to stick with the only stadium sponsor we have ever known - Cherry Red Records, who have been with us for almost 17 years to date.
However, we would also like to say a huge 'thank you' to Reston Waste Management and remind our fans what a crucial role the company already plays in the life of our club.
Our commercial director Ivor Heller said: "Reston Waste Management paid us a huge compliment by wanting to sponsor our new stadium and we must not forget that.
"In the end we remained loyal to Cherry Red Records because they have been so loyal to us for such a long time.
"But I'd truly like to think we have developed the same relationship with Reston. The guys there love our club and they are absolutely the sort of people we must value and hold on to."
Reston Waste Management officially became our digital partners while we were still at Kingsmeadow, and they stayed loyal to us throughout the Covid lockdowns.
With so many matches postponed, they missed out on engaging with fans on matchdays and yet they stood solidly by our side. Without any matchday revenue, help like theirs was invaluable.
Our chief executive Joe Palmer said: "We can't thank Reston Waste Management enough for such loyalty - in fact that sentiment applies to all our sponsors.
"We like to use the word 'family' when we talk about our club and by that we usually mean our fans and volunteers, our backroom team, our directors, everyone on The Dons Trust and, of course, the players and management.
"But I'd like to remind everyone that an essential part of that family is also our sponsors. They bring in the revenue that really matters, they keep us afloat and they help us dream big.
"Reston Waste Management are our third-biggest sponsors and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude for that.
"On a personal note, I also love the way they have put our club's name and badge on all the vehicles they drive around the borough. They are clearly proud to be associated with us - and we are equally proud to be associated with them."
