Matchday Guide: Don't forget the 12.30 pm start!

Extra tickets available for home fans

29 April 2022

We'll be aiming to finish a difficult season on a high tomorrow - and tickets are still available to watch the Dons.

We've got extra tickets available for home fans as you can watch the game from the Cherry Red Records Stand (North Stand).

Book your ticket now by visiting our online ticket shop

Turnstiles for our supporters open at 10.45 am and our fantastic food park (situated behind the South London Movers Stand) can be accessed from the same time.

Returns

If you're not planning to attend tomorrow's game, please kindly let us know, so that we can get more support for the Dons!

E-mail ticketreturns@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk with your name and the block, row, and seat number of the seats (s) you're releasing.

Player of the Year Awards

Our Player of the Year awards will be staged tomorrow.

The Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year will be presented at approximately 3.00 pm outside The Phoenix pub - immediately after Saturday's man-of-the-match award ceremony.

The Junior Dons Player of the Year and Club Player of the Year will be presented before the game at 11.45 am and 12.15 pm respectively.

Dons Local Action Group Food Collection Point

We will once again be organising collection points on Saturday with supporters invited to donate food to those less fortunate in the community. Masterminded by our award-winning Dons Local Action Group (DLAG), fans will be able to drop off tinned supplies - with an urgent need for tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned fruit, and tinned pulses. Food collection points will be located at every entrance into the stadium.

Programme

Priced at £3, our matchday magazine will be available to buy from the Phoenix Pub, the Speedway Bar (in the food park) and all the usual selling points outside the ground.

There will be an in-depth interview with Alex Woodyard in tomorrow's edition, in which our captain talks honestly about the season.

Food, Drinks and Pub

Our food park is accessible to all and offers several different types of cuisines from local food businesses.

Food outlets include the following:

  • MYPIE
  • Dough Shack
  • Vegan Express
  • Naked Chips
  • Bodeans BBQ

Fans are permitted to bring water in a clear plastic bottle if they wish. However, no glass, cans, or metal bottles will be allowed. Thermos flasks are permitted.

All fans will have access to food and drink concessions around the stadium including the food park behind the Movers stand. Unfortunately due to fire regulations, fans in the Ry and Movers Stands will not have access to the first floor concessions in the Cappagh Stand. As a result, all fans seated in the Cappagh Stand will need to show their match ticket or have their hand stamped in order to get back to the first floor concourse.

The Phoenix will remain open after the game. The pub will also be serving spirits. Please note that the full range of spirits will be available from after the final whistle until closing time. Pre-mixed cans will be available prior to the final whistle. Our By The Horns pub will serve a wide selection of quality beers, well worth sampling for ale lovers.

Due to supply issues with Camden, which has hit the whole of the London area, we have sourced Goose Island Midway Session IPA (4.1 per cent) in the Ry (East) and Cappagh (West) Stands. This product is also available on SwipeStation.

AFC Wimbledon Foundation Day

Tomorrow we celebrate the success of our Foundation after we won the EFL Community Club of the Year.

Thanks to the tireless work of club staff and Dons Local Action Group volunteers, we won this coveted national award.

The main focus of Foundation Day will be the Womble Walk, a 10/20 km fundraising event led by our very own Haydon the Womble. Depending upon the distance, it starts at either 8.00 am or 9.30 am.

It will raise valuable funds to support key Foundation initiatives in our community, allowing people of all ages to grow and thrive. For example, your fundraising will go towards providing free holiday and hot meals for school children, plus sports, social and health activities for older people and disabled youngsters or refugees.

Participants in the Womble Walk will start from Wimbledon Common, complete a 5k lap of the Common and after walking  through our beautiful Merton parks will arrive at the Plough Lane finishing line at approximately 11.30 / 12pm in time for kick-off.

You can make a donation by accessing this page.

Kids Zone

The Kids Zone will be open from 10.45 am. Not only will fans be able to meet Haydon, our favourite Womble, there'll also be tons of fun activities such as colouring, Lego, Duplo and Stickle Brix - as well as an  inflatable football shooting game. The Kids Zone is positioned on the concourse behind the Family Section on the corner of the East and South stands. Specifically for kids aged between 5-12, activities will be organised on a rotation basis. Please note that children MUST be supervised by parents at all times.

End of season stock at reduced prices

Get your hands on some fantastic bargains at our club shop tomorrow.

In his final tidy up of the season, Kitman Robin has passed a treasure trove of stock to the shop, including home, away, third and GK shirts, along with some limited edition Puma goodies that the shop has not previously stocked.

Available at reduced prices, the stock includes the much-admired white tracksuit top worn by players and management team, some green goalkeeper tops, and more of the popular grey Puma hoodies, jogging shorts and jogging pants.

These will initially be on sale in the shop when it opens at 10.00 am on Saturday and will be made available online when the shop closes at around 3.30pm.

How to access the stadium

The Cherry Red Records Stadium will be open for home fans from 10.45 am. Supporters must enter the stadium via their designated entrance for their stand which is indicated on their ticket. Additionally, fans will be required to go through security where bags may be searched.

All home fans will enter via the Plough Lane end of the stadium only. Please note that fans in the South London Movers Stand or Ry Stand can only enter via Gates 3, 4 and 5. Fans seated in the Cappagh Stand can only enter via Gate 2.

Away fans can only access the stadium by Gate 7, which is accessed via St Martin’s Way or Maskell Road.

For fans who have purchased matchday hospitality, please enter the stadium via Gate 1 which will open at 10.00 am.

For a map of the stadium, information about using the Cycle Store and bringing bags into the ground, see our  Matchday Guide  section on the official website.
