Many of you will be aware of Wombelles and our match sponsorship each season, dressed in our very obvious pink!
Today, however, we will be missing one of our wonderful belles, our dear friend Briony Little who sadly lost her life to breast cancer in August at the age of 41. She was so brave, so amazingly strong, and she lived her life to the full. One of the things that made her happiest was watching her beloved Dons. Her cheeky giggle and beaming smile will be sorely missed by all of us today.
We wanted to use this opportunity to highlight the importance for both women AND men to check their boobs and pecs regularly for any abnormalities and to ask you to help us raise money, in memory of Briony, for a fantastic charity called CoppaFeel - a breast cancer awareness charity with a focus on promoting early detection of breast cancer by encouraging people to check themselves regularly.
More information on how to check yourself can be found on the CoppaFeel website.
Visit the Just Giving page.
Whatever the result of the match today, we’d like all of you to join us by raising a glass or a cuppa to Briony, in celebration of her life, her inspiring resilience, and her unconditional love for our football club.
Thank you and COYD!
