There was a refreshing change for supporters ordering their matchday pints on Saturday – and our fans were quick off the mark to take advantage.
We launched the innovative SwipeStation app for the Shrewsbury game with a great response from our fanbase.
As it’s a pilot scheme, Camden Pale Ale and Stella Artois are the only two drinks available to order on the app with SwipeStations located in the Cappagh (West) and East (Ry) Stands. At the current time, drinks can only be redeemed at the designated stations in these two stands.
We will continue to use the service for another four matches, starting for tonight versus Cheltenham Town, and there’s the possibility to extend its use across our food and catering menu if successful.
The mobile app enables supporters to order a pint anywhere in the stadium before the game - and then collect it at a fast lane, either pre-match or at half-time.
The app works offline, which means you can place an order without Wi-Fi connectivity. Obviously, the app does require initial connectivity to download, so why not do it at home before you come to the game?
How to use SwipeStation
Download SwipeStation from the App Store or Google Play and add your card details and email address (like you would for Uber, or to buy a drink in a pub!)
Browse the menu and add products to your basket. Once you’re happy with your selection, payment will be made and the app will turn your order into a unique QR code. This will contain your ID (encrypted) and the contents of your order.
Scan this QR code at a SwipeStation machine. The SwipeStation is hardwired to the internet, so is able to process your transaction swiftly and securely.
The SwipeStation will print off a piece of paper showing your order, which you take to the designated fast lane and exchange for your refreshments. It’s simple, quick and easy.
