The pathway to shaping your career is at Plough Lane!

Time to study at our stadium

16 February 2022

Say goodbye to drab old school buildings, tarmac playgrounds and muddy football pitches - and say hello to an exciting new world of learning!

We’re about to revolutionise education by bringing a unique learning opportunity to our brand new stadium here at Plough Lane.

Our innovative Education Hub is really taking shape with local head teachers and experts coming to The Cherry Red Records Stadium last week to see what we have to offer.

We introduced them to the exciting courses we will be launching in September and then explained why learning in a vibrant football ground will be so much more appealing to 16, 17 and 18 year olds than a traditional school setting.

“The response was incredible,” said our chief executive Joe Palmer, who has spearheaded the project in partnership with our local Southfields Academy.

"There was a real sense that we are onto a winner. Head  teachers could see we are offering something unique and appealing.”

It gives you a detailed overview of what we are offering, with full course information and how to enrol.

“Our courses have been specifically designed to appeal to young people - while also giving them the relevant skills and qualifications they'd need for the sort of careers that might excite them,” added Joe.

Demand is expected to be high - so don’t miss out. This is a real opportunity to break free of the traditional school environment and learn something fresh and new in a living, breathing football stadium.

There will be an open day here on 3 March (4.30 pm until 6.30 pm) with potential students welcome to check out the facilities and learn more about what's on offer. E-mail Educationhub@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk for information.
