Corie Andrews has joined Colchester United on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old was yesterday recalled from his loan spell at Aldershot, before signing on the dotted line for League 2 club Colchester.
“After scouting both Aaron (Cosgrave) and Corie, we just felt that Aaron was the one we wanted to pull back on this occasion," said Robbo. "Then the option came up for Corie to go out on loan at League Two level, so it’s a win-win situation really.
“Hopefully Corie can move up to that level, score goals, and then we can revisit it at the end of the season. We get a lot of our lads on good loans, but if we can put these relationships in place with League Two clubs it’s better for them to go and play rather than sitting on the bench for us.
“Colchester came in, we spoke to Corie about it, and he was keen on going there, so to be honest with you it was more about what the player wants. It will be good for us to see how he does at League Two level.”
Corie scored nine goals in 20 matches for Aldershot, and we wish him every success in his loan spell at Colchester.
