Our new mouth-watering matchday service

An update on changes to bars and catering for the Morecambe game

14 January 2022

We’re serving up an extra-tasty treat on Saturday with delicious new food options - and an easier way to enjoy the perfect matchday pint!

Following feedback from supporters, we’ve teamed up with our catering partners, Elior, to offer a succulent new burger range.

And for a limited time you’ll be able to sample the delights for FREE in the Cappagh Stand! (West Stand).

Made with 100 per cent beef and served with burger sauce in Brioche buns, our new patties are sure to be a taste sensation, with the entire range freshly prepared in the kitchen by an experienced chef.

The Cheeseburger has also been upgraded and the Gourmet burger option will be topped with onion rings, bacon, tomato, and gherkins.

But that’s not all! Saturday will also see us under starter’s orders for our brand new Speedway Bar! In partnership with By The Horns, we’ve renamed the bar in the South London Movers Stand and the number one priority will be to ensure speedier service when you queue up for a pint.

To help us gear up, we’ve reduced the drink choices at this bar to three draught beers: Stella, Camden Hells and By The Horns’ Crazy Gang Pale Ale.  Wines and soft drinks will still be available as usual.

A new queueing system will be introduced at the bar to make everything more manageable and orderly. In fact, express lanes for drinks will also be introduced in the Cappagh and Ry (East) Stands to reduce queuing times.

Bal Srai, our Revenue and Operations Manager, said: “We’ve listened to the fans’ feedback and, as a result, made significant improvements to our catering service.

“Our catering partner, Elior, has recruited a new Retail and Bars Manager who has 25 years of Stadia Hospitality experience at venues like Liverpool FC and Wigan Athletic.

“This will really help boost the overall matchday experience at all our future games.”

Saturday will also be the first matchday for our partnership with the fantastic By The Horns Brewing Company, who are now running the Phoenix Pub.

The brewery has deservedly earned a glowing reputation with ale lovers and a full range of draught products will be available in the Phoenix.

A new By The Horns Cask Bar has been added for Saturday (situated outside the Phoenix) with two cask ales served: Panowow Best Bitter (4.2%) & Hopadelic Session IPA (4.3%).

The Cask Bar will also be serving hot drinks including tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Please note, burgers will not be available in the Ry Stand to help us maintain the quality of our product. However, supporters can still purchase freshly-prepared pies and hot dogs and there will be easy access to the food stalls in the fanzone.
