#AskBrowny: Fan Questions

Popular defender answers supporters

27 July 2022

As part of a brand new series, Lee Brown was the lucky first member of our AFC Wimbledon squad to be put to the test by our loyal supporters on Twitter as he discussed beers, boxing and banter in a wide-ranging interview.

We asked our fans for their questions on social media and the response was unsurprisingly high as an all manner of questions – both football and life related – were sent in!

You can read the full transcript of our interview with Lee down below, whilst you can watch it via our official YouTube channel.

International Wombles Supporters Group (@IWSG19) asks…

Q: Why did you stay this season and what are your targets this year?

A: I stayed because they’re paying my contract (laughs)! No seriously, I was always staying because I signed a two and a half year deal.

We just want to get back to winning games. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the situation. Let’s just get our first win and take it from there.

Sylfen (@Sylfen) asks…

Q: Which player gets a haircut pretty much every week?

A: That’s me! Is there a reason why someone’s asked that? It’s a bit of a running joke. I do like a haircut. When you get old you have to trim off the grey hairs. So I keep it short.

James Pritchard (@pritj12) asks…

Q: Which player in the current squad has the most potential to be a future star?

A: Alex Pearce. He’s had a good career but he’s got the potential to get another move (smiles).

Lawrence F (@Law_F0) asks…

Q: Fancy a Stella?

A: Nah (smiles). I’m not really a Stella man!

Conor Sheridan (conorsheridan21) asks…

Q: What are your top three beers?

A: Being the athlete that I am – I don’t really drink. But if I had to have one, I’d go – Corona, Peroni and Desperados.

Hudlin’s Massive (@Rudi_szn) asks…

Q: Who is the best and worst dressed in the squad?

A: Now we’re talking! Alex Pearce comes in with a white tea towel on daily. It’s got stains all over it – I don’t know what he does before he comes into training! He has got a bit when he wants to but on a day to day basis he’s up there. Woody (Alex Woodyard) is down as one of the worst as well by the way. I don’t know what he comes dressed as.

Best dressed… Tans (Nik Tzanev) has got a bit! Bit of an edgy look to it. He’s (Johnnie Jackson) a million dollars! He’s up there.

Lee Walker (@Leeboywalker) asks…

Q: Have you finally got a proper number on the back of your shirt this season?

A: I’ve been given number three after Dan (Csoka) left. I’m moving up in the world. I’ve gone up from 55 which is good.

Hudlin’s Massive (@Rudi_szn) asks…

Q: Dream night out. Three people dead or alive. Who are you taking?

A: That’s a good question. I’m going to take Conor McGregor, John Terry and David Beckham. It would be an interesting mix. There’d be some good stories.

Al Snow (@birdieorbetter) asks…

Q: If we don’t play a traditional back four this season, do you feel you can play both at left wing-back and on the left-hand side of the back three?

A: Either or to be fair. I’ve played both – not so much on the left of a three. But the more I’ve been doing it in training, the more comfortable I feel in that role. Wherever the gaffer wants me to be honest.

Sylfen (@Sylfen) asks…

Q: Would you rather make a world class tackle or score a world class goal?

A: Goal definitely. Who picks tackle by the way?! Mental isn’t it.

Sylfen (@Sylfen) asks…

Q: Who’s the joker in the squad?

A: Alex Pearce is up there. Woody is too. I enjoy it.

Chris (@ChrisOraa) asks…

Q: A boxing match between Ayoub Assal and Kyle Hudlin. Who’s winning?

A: Ayoub’s feisty! I’ll be honest I’ve been pumping Ayoub’s tires up to give him a bit as well. I don’t think Kyle would be able to catch him! He’d be in and out. It would be a good mismatch.
