Lee Brown is looking forward to the next stage in his career, but his favourite song is certainly a blast from the past!
As part of a feature for our Fans' TV channel, our left-back selected One Direction's catchy track called History as his number one musical choice. And he was quick to demand that it features on the training ground playlist!
In case you missed it on our popular Saturday show with the 9yrs Podcast team, Darius Charles chatted extensively with Lee about a variety of subjects, including settling in at Wimbledon and staying in the best possible shape after passing 30!
Though there were a few laughs and jokes at our New Malden training base, there was a serious edge to the interview too, as Lee talked passionately about helping his younger team-mates to push forward.
“You are never too old to learn, even at my age of 31. I am learning every day still. When I was 20 or 21 I was so hungry to learn and determined to improve the areas I was not as good in, whether it was attacking or defending. It’s such a tough industry to last in. There are a lot of players I've played with who are not playing football now, or they've dropped out of the game.
"Your career can be over before you know it. You need to be improving constantly because the levels are getting better and better. You can’t take anything for granted and every day you want to come in and listen to the coaches, so that you improve.”
