Our young prospects recently won the EFL Under-19s Youth Alliance South East Conference – and you can celebrate their success with us at half-time tomorrow.

The Dons will be presented with the trophy during the interval of the Cambridge match with squad and staff also receiving title winners’ medals.

Though keen to acknowledge the success of this season’s crop, our Academy Manager Michael Hamilton saluted all the staff involved in progressing our youth section forward.

“Our youth development programme became an official academy in 2011, so it is still very much in its infancy in terms of timeline. We have produced players who have been sold to Premier League clubs, established themselves as professional footballers, and even gone on to earn recognition at international level, but this is the first time in our history that we have won a trophy.

“With a total of 38 points from 18 games, winning 12 and losing just four, we finished seven points clear of Southend, winning the title with three games to spare.

“Though the boys will rightfully earn the plaudits, we need to recognise the staff members from the past and present who have built and maintained the foundations that continue to drive our day to day. As an academy, we are always looking to evolve, but on Saturday we will not be looking ahead. Instead, we will be looking at what has been achieved and we invite you to celebrate with us.”

Your Champions are as follows:

Players: Luka Ziger, Harry Griffiths, Adejola Lahan, Ibrahim Bangura, Morgan Williams, Hugo Few, Remi Onabanjo, Aron Sasu, Paris Lock, Aaron Jones, Ben Mason, Ethan Sutcliffe, Reuben Mason, Josh Hallard, Abdi Ali, Marcel Campbell, Obed Yeboah, Quaine Bartley, David Kawa, Archie Stevens.

Staff: James Oliver Pearce, Michael Hamilton, Michael Cook, Liam Connor, Jenna Richards, Kagan Genc, Kareem Mcintosh, Ahmed Jama, Martin Flack, Nicholas Wright, Deji Olorukoba-Oseni.

Here's a reminder from the day our young Dons clinched the Youth Alliance South East title!
