A groovy recruit for Saturday and “The Wizard” adds extra magic!

A fantastic array of Dons heroes confirmed for charity match

11 May 2022

World-renowned rapper Harvey will be getting his boots back out to boost our charity appeal for St George’s Hospital – and he will be wearing Wimbledon colours once again.

Harvey, who played for us in our early years after reformation, will add extra groove to the match that will pitch together a host of Dons legends, managed by Terry Brown and Dave Anderson.

We are delighted to announce that Rob Ursell will be joining us, the man nicknamed “The Wizard” for his wonderful array of flicks and tricks in midfield, his skills even earning him an England Futsal call-up.

The above picture shows Wimbledon's squad celebrating setting a new record for the longest unbeaten run in British football back in 2004 (Dave Anderson has his arm around Rob in the above photo).

We’ve had additional players confirmed in recent days and the list for Saturday so far is as follows:

Harvey, Seb Brown, Jon Main, Jake Leberl, Kennedy Adjei, Anthony Wordsworth, Elliott Godfrey, Mickey Haswell, Dannie Bulman, James Mulley, Oli Bell (ITV Racing), Simon Bassey, Mark Cooper, Steve Butler, Dave Sargent, Lee O’Leary, Martin Randall, Wes Daly, Tom Davis, Ben Judge, Paul Lorraine.

The match will kick-off at 2.00 pm on Saturday with the following ticket prices: Adults £10, Under-18s £4. To book your seat, visit our online ticket page.

We are very proud to be helping St George's Hospital with their appeal, which aims to raise £5 million for this vital cause.

Visit  www.timeforachange.org.uk  to find out how you can get involved and become an appeal supporter. The legends match will be hosted before a gala dinner, which will launch the appeal.

Last week we invited bids from supporters to join Dons legends for the game at our stadium with two places available - one for each team - and there’s been a fantastic response.

We’ve had a bid of several thousand pounds for one of the places and £400 for the other with the highest two bidders taking part in the game.

E-mail commercial@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk to make a bid by Friday at 12 noon.
