Loan watch: Zach maintains scoring spree

Wimbledon striker adds to his tally in Scotland

14 November 2022

Zach Robinson made headlines north of the border yet again at the weekend, with his best performance to date of his loan spell with Dundee.

Manager Gary Bowyer described our striker on a season-long loan as “unplayable”, as he scored both goals in the 2-0 victory over Raith Rovers. That took his tally to eight goals in eighteen appearances for the Dee, who are third in the Scottish Championship and three points off top spot.

Fellow forward Aaron Cosgrave continues to get game time under coach Kevin Maher with Southend United.

He came on for the last quarter of the game in both the two-all draw with Notts County in midweek and Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Dorking Wanderers at Roots Hall. Although he is yet to get off the mark, that took him to eight appearances for the Shrimpers. The Essex side are up to fifth in the National League table.

Ben Mason continues to be a key figure in the Basingstoke Town back line, of what is proving to be a successful loan with our former youth team captain to the Hampshire club. He was part of their side that recorded an impressive 5-1 victory away to Merstham in the Isthmian South Central on Saturday.

In the same division, attacking midfielder Marcel Campbell played for an hour in South Park Reigate’s 2-1 defeat to Hanworth Villa. He was replaced by Noe Vendrells, who was Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with us last season. Basingstoke are sixth and South Park Reigate seventh in the table.

Max Foulkes was in goal for Molesey, who won 3-1 at London Samurai Rovers - the biggest Japanese team based in our country. The Walton Road side are up to eleventh in the Combined Counties League, Division One.
