Fit-again Kyle: I need to make an impact

On loan forward keen to show our fans what he really can do

Giant striker Kyle Hudlin feels he has a point to prove with the Dons after an interrupted start to his season-long loan.

The 6ft 9inch forward returned to action as a second-half substitute for the closing stages of our midweek defeat to Northampton, but having recovered from injury at his parent club, Kyle now wants to show our fans what he’s fully capable of.

“I want to kick on straight away,” said Kyle. “We didn’t get the result we wanted the other night, so we definitely need to make an impact, and I personally need to have an impact on the game going forward.

“You always step into this environment with a point to prove, especially having come from non-league because you want to prove a point in the EFL. I’ve got my own personal goals, which I’ve set out to achieve, and I look forward to doing just that."

“I had a groin strain, and it was quite bad. When I went back to Huddersfield, the staff were class. They did everything properly and got me back ahead of schedule. I’m glad to be back and I’m feeling good. It’s been kind of a scattered start, but I’m looking fully fit now and getting back to full fitness within training. It’s just building up my minutes to get that sharpness, so that I'm ready to play games.

“There are plenty of highs and lows in football, you’ve just got to take them as they come and stay steady and humble. Your time will come, so you’ve just got to take everything in your stride and grab that opportunity when it does.

Kyle has faith in the ability of his team-mates, as we aim to add to our victories against Gillingham and Crawley Town this weekend by earning three points at Carlisle.

“We stay positive, believe in ourselves, and we'll just look to get back to the form that we’ve shown at times this season,” added Kyle. “Especially when I was away, we go back to that Crawley performance. We’ve just got to kick on and believe in our own abilities. We’re a really talented bunch that have a lot to prove. I feel like we’ve got the balance between youth and experience, and it shows. There’s no doubt about the quality, we see it everyday in training. It’s just about taking it from there, out onto the pitch, and kicking on.

“I always believe that I offer something different, because of my stature. It gives me that advantage that not many people have. Everyone has got their own personal attributes that they are good at, so everyone offers their specific thing in different ways.”
