Ali Al-Hamadi has won the PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans’ Player of the Month award for March after making a brilliant start to his AFC Wimbledon career.
The Iraqi international enjoyed an eye-catching month, notching three goals along the way against Mansfield Town, Newport County and Walsall, whilst also claiming an assist against Doncaster Rovers.
His goal tally now stands at nine since his arrival in January, underlining his importance to the team as we bid to finish the season strongly.
Speaking shortly after receiving his award, Ali said: “I’m over the moon. I didn’t expect it. It’s amazing, I’m so thankful for it. I hope it’s the beginning of many more to come. Thank you to all the boys and the staff who’ve helped me since I’ve come in. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the help of everyone.
“My goal against Walsall was the most enjoyable, because we not only won the game but also saw some great scenes at the end. It was the most meaningful one for me.”
