Matchday Guide: Extra incentives to make a day of it!

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's match

11 August 2023

We’re counting down the hours until our first home league game of 2023/24 – and we’ve got plenty of reasons to make the most of the matchday with us.

Supporters can join us from 11 am to watch England Lionesses versus Colombia in the World Cup quarter-final and afterwards there will be post-match entertainment with a band called OB1’s joining us in the Viticult Lounge.

Following our fantastic cup victory versus Coventry, another exciting home matchday awaits with League Two new boys Wrexham as the visitors, so make sure you play your part by creating an electric atmosphere at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Buy from our online ticket shop

Collections for Season Tickets and Sutton

  • Season Ticket/Sutton collections available outside the entrance to the Cappagh (Main) Stand from 11am.
  • If you haven’t received your Season Ticket and were expecting to or if you want to check it is available for collection, please email tickets@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk . We can issue e-tickets for the game if your ticket hasn’t arrived, but we encourage this to be done before arriving at the ground.
  • We will not be selling any tickets tomorrow.
  • The Ticket Office will shut just after kick-off so please arrive early if you have any queries. If your query is not related to the Wrexham game, please email tickets@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk and we will get back to you.
  • Please arrive early to give time to get through turnstiles.

Launch of Ticket Resale Initiative

We've always been grateful for Season Ticket returns over the years - and now there's an extra incentive to make your seat available for resale.

Our Ticket Resale Initiative is now live in time for the Wrexham game, so please use this new system if you’re not planning to attend and help us get more support for the Dons!

Click on the link below for more details.

Ticket Resale Initiative

Cashless Stadium

Don’t forget that we’ve now moved to become a cashless stadium, though tokens can be used to pay for programmes and golden goal tickets (only to be redeemed with sellers of these).

See our previous article for full details.

Club Shop

Pop into our Club Shop from 11 am and get your hands on one of our fantastic Umbro kits! We also have a wide range of superb memorabilia in our stadium store.

Allocated seats and ticket checks

You must sit in your allocated seat at the game. If you are found to be in the wrong seat, you will be asked politely by our stewards to move to your allocated seat. Refusal to do this will result in you being ejected from the ground.

Ticket checks will take place upon entry to the ground, and you may also have your ticket checked after the half-time break.

We want supporters to feel welcome, but following issues at our match on Wednesday night fans have been reminded about their behaviour at future games after seats were damaged in the Reston Waste (South) Stand.

Pubs and bars.jpg

World Cup screening

We’ll be showing the England Women’s World Cup game versus Colombia from 11 am in the Phoenix Pub, so cheer on the Lionesses into the semi-final before the Dons take on Wrexham.

Please note that access will be through the grey gates to the left of our reception and you’ll need to have your match ticket ready to be checked by a steward to gain admittance.

Opening times

All turnstiles will be open from 1 pm on Saturday, apart from gate seven (open at approximately 1.30 pm). Wrexham supporters can gain entry from 1 pm via gate six. Entry for home fans will be via gates 2-5 and those who have booked hospitality should enter via gate 1.

For first time visitors, take a look at a map of the stadium in our extensive guide.

Matchday Guide

Hospitality

Lounges will be open from 12 noon and there will be an extra treat for Dons supporters! That’s because we’ll be joined by two Dons heroes with Dannie Bulman and Simon Bassey as special guests in hospitality. They’ll be meeting diners for a friendly chat – and sharing a few of their great memories from the past. Moving forward, we are aiming to make this a regular occurrence with Dons heroes joining us in hospitality and as special matchday guests.

Man of the Match presentation

This will be hosted in the Viticult Lounge shortly after the game. Those who have booked hospitality will be invited to stay on for post-match, but all supporters will be welcome upstairs to enjoy a drink or two and the entertainment.

Please note the following:

  • Access to Man of the Match will be via a queue in the under croft (rear of staff entrance / rear reception entrance). This can be accessed near the pub/back of the shop entrance.
  • With this being a high demand game for hospitality, you will be shown to the Mezzanine area on the fourth floor for the Man of the Match presentation.
  • If you are sitting in the Cappagh Stand please use the stairs in the pub, or if you are sitting in the Ry or South London Movers Stand please make your way from behind the South Stand and past the pub. Please Note: No spectators will be able to leave the ground and re-enter to access the queue as this goes against our licensing terms.
  • Entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with fans will only allowed up once it is safe to do so after fans leaving the ground post-match.

Live music after the game

Join us in the Viticult Lounge upstairs after the Man of the Match for a live performance by the OB1’s. They’ll be bringing their unique style to a selection of pop, rock, soul and R&B covers. Subject to capacity, everyone is welcome and the bar will be open with a wide range of drinks, plus pies and pizzas will be available to buy for savoury post-match treats.

Dons TV

Our previous 9yrs TV pre-match show has had a makeover and the new name was a simple choice - Dons TV!

For this coming season on home turf, it's a fresh way to keep in touch with all things Wimbledon.

So make sure you tune into our official You Tube channel from 2 pm for build-up to the big game, which includes John Green as special guest and live team news as it drops.

Drainage works notice

See our previous update for more information on the process of extracting traces of surface water oil from our drains (a blue tank is situated behind the Reston Waste Stand).

Ensuring a safe place to watch football

We recently clarified a number of key points ahead of the new season, which included confirmation that bottles are not permitted (albeit with some exceptions).

See our previous article for more information.

Golden Goal tickets

Tickets will be on sale at the game tomorrow (priced at £1) with the top prize of £100 (all funds raised are donated to the Club), so look out for our Golden Goal sellers on Saturday.

Autograph Zone

There'll be an opportunity for fans to get signatures from our players after the game by accessing our autograph zone in the under croft (behind the Club Shop).

Dons Local Action Group Collection Point

There will once again be collection points for DLAG on Saturday with supporters invited to donate food to those less fortunate in the community.

Masterminded by our award-winning Dons Local Action Group (DLAG), fans will be able to drop off tinned supplies - with an urgent need for tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned fruit, and tinned pulses. Food collection points will be located at every entrance into the stadium.

Kids Zone

This will be open on Saturday. Fans will be able to meet Haydon, our favourite Womble, and there’s also plenty of fun activities for children to get involved with. The Kids Zone is positioned on the concourse behind the Family Section on the corner of the East and South stands.

Specifically for kids aged between 5-12, it is open from 1.30pm to 2.45pm with activities organised on a rotation basis. Please note that children MUST be supervised by parents at all times.

Reusable cups

We have a reusable beer cup scheme to replace all single use plastic pint cups around the stadium. Once you’ve finished your beer, please dispose of your cup within the reusable cup bins located around the stadium.

For a map of the stadium, and other information, including details about bringing bags into the ground and our cycle store facility, see our Matchday Guide section on the official website.
