Zach attack Dee-layed

Loan watch rounds-up our players involved elsewhere

Zach Robinson’s return to the Dundee line-up was delayed at the weekend, having returned to the Scottish Championship side on transfer deadline day.

The striker, who scored eight goals in 19 appearances in his first spell north of the border, made one appearance for the Dons this season when he came on for the last five minutes of our goalless draw at Crewe last month.

However, Zach’s initial run of games with the Dee had come to a halt in November of last year, due to a slight hamstring problem followed by an illness, before he returned to us. Zach is pictured working with our Sports Scientist Chris McConnell recently.

Having joined up with Dundee again for the rest of the season on Thursday, they felt he wasn’t quite ready to be involved in Saturday’s one-all draw at Hamilton Academical, but he may figure in their plans for Wednesday’s Scottish Challenge Cup semi-final against Raith Rovers.

Striker Aaron Cosgrave has extended his loan with National League North side King’s Lynn Town until the end of the season.

He netted again for the Linnets in a 2-1 victory over Bradford Park Avenue last Tuesday. Aaron made another appearance in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Buxton, as King’s Lynn slipped to second in the table.

Midfielder Alfie Bendle gained more experience at senior level on Saturday, having played in our gallant FA Youth Cup defeat to Leeds United on Wednesday night. Alfie had a couple of notable shots on goal for Eastbourne Borough, but their National League South game at home to Taunton Town ended in a 3-0 defeat.

Winger Dylan Adjei-Hersey came off the bench for Hungerford Town twice in less than a week. He got the last twenty minutes of a one-all draw with Chelmsford City on Tuesday night and a little longer in the weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Oxford City.

Midfielder Kwaku Frimpong figured in Potters Bar Town’s 3-1 victory away to Herne Bay in the Isthmian Premier on Tuesday night. Defender Ben Mason was restored to Basingstoke Town’s starting line-up and played the full game, as the South Central leaders won 3-2 at Tooting & Mitcham United on Saturday.

Left-wing back Ollie Downs had an eventful week. On Tuesday night he was Fleet Town’s man-of-the-match in their 2-0 defeat at home to Jersey Bulls in the Combined Counties League Premier South. The following night he was on the bench for our FA Youth Cup tie at home to Leeds. Ollie gained more game time for Fleet on Saturday, as they lost 2-0 at Redhill.

Goalkeeper Max Foulkes helped Molesey to a point from a two-all draw at FC Deportivo Galicia in Combined Counties League, Division One. He was praised for his distribution and keeping the hosts out in the second-half.

Two of our loanees returned to the club last week. Defender Luke Jenkins (Weymouth) and striker Quaine Bartley’s (Wingate & Finchley) time elsewhere came to an end.
