Browny’s verdict: Armani in fashion for the Dons

New midfielder earns sponsor's accolade

Lee Brown was among those who labelled Armani Little as well suited to our midfield after his man-of-the-match display.

The Forest Green Rovers loanee delivered another eye-catching performance in the middle to earn our sponsor’s accolade, following our goalless draw at home to third place Carlisle United.

“Look, some people fit,” said no-nonsense defender Browny. “Armani has obviously been itching to play football. I think he’s come in and done really well and he deserved his man-of-the-match award. I think he’s done brilliant since he has come here. For me, he’s got a bit of everything about him.”

Although we couldn’t make the breakthrough, Browny also reserved praise for goalkeeper Nik Tzanev against League Two’s top scorers after the New Zealand international contributed to yet another shut out.

“We all work together as an eleven really to keep clean sheets, but Tans prides himself on that and I thought he deserved it,” said Browny. “His confidence is sky high at the minute. His kicking is brilliant and he’s made some great saves which kept us in the game.”

Having run leaders Leyton Orient close last weekend, our tough schedule of fixtures continues on Tuesday night with a trip to fourth place Northampton Town.

“It’s another hard place to go,” said Browny. “They’re up there, so we’ve got to recover well. It’s all about recovery now. Then we go there and try and get some points."

“We’ve been working on our forward play all week. We’ve been really focusing on that. The more we keep working on our patterns, our finishing and the end product then I think it’s only a matter of time before we start slotting them home. We’ve just got to keep doing the right things in training and hopefully that comes.

“We looked really solid as a team, but obviously we need to add goals to that. We were a match for a top team again. On different day, we win it. At the end there, with another five or ten minutes, I feel that we’d have come out on top.

“It’s another good clean sheet, it’s progress, it’s something to work on and hopefully now we can take these positives into Tuesday.”
