We are pleased to announce the permanent signing of Sutton United defender Aaron Pierre on a contract until the end of the season.
The centre-back boasts a wealth of experience at Football League level, having made close to 300 appearances in Leagues One and Two with spells at Wycombe Wanderers, Northampton and Shrewsbury Town.
Having spent time with both Fulham and Brentford at youth level, Aaron was handed his first professional contract by the Bees in 2011 and would go on to make his senior debut in December 2012.
Loans with Cambridge United and Wycombe followed, the latter of which seeing him secure a permanent transfer to Adams Park in 2015.
He became a key player for the Chairboys, scoring 10 goals in 149 games over two years before Northampton Town snapped him up as a free agent. His strong form continued at Sixfields, earning him the club’s player of the year award for the 2018/19 season.
This didn’t go unnoticed higher up the pyramid as Shrewsbury parted with an undisclosed fee to bring him to Shropshire. Aaron earnt another player of the year award in his second season with Salop, before moving back south to Sutton.
He now joins the Dons at a crucial stage of the season, with his addition taking our January signing count to five.
