Paris double brings Dons delight

A report on Saturday’s action

23 January 2023

AFC Wimbledon Under-18s picked up their first win of 2023 as they ran out as convincing 4-1 winners over Milton Keynes Dons.

Goals from Remi Onabanjo and Morgan Williams combined with a Paris Lock brace saw us through to a memorable victory.

We set the pace early on and certainly looked like breaking the deadlock in the opening stages. However our opponents held firm until Onabanjo fired home.

Things would even get better for the men in yellow and blue as Williams sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot to double our lead.

Then came the pick of the four goals as Lock weaved through the Milton Keynes defence and before nestling a shot into the bottom corner.

However, our lead was cut back to two when the visitors pulled a goal back just before the break.

The second-half was a tighter affair, with the away side looking to build momentum after getting back in with a shout.

Nevertheless our work rate shone through, with the Dons narrowing off any potential threats by getting out to the ball quickly.

Williams was unlucky not to turn provider after scoring our second goal when he whipped in a well-delivered cross that Jola Lahan headed wide.

Tom Wilson was a man on a mission and his tireless running caused problems for the visitors as he put the squeeze on those in an away shirt.

The game was then settled by Lock, as the forward plundered his second to cap an excellent team performance.
