The Dons are set to take to the field in a black iris and gold kit once more as we today unveiled our new third shirt created by Umbro.
As many supporters will know, we made a commitment to honouring our promise of wearing the popular strip for two seasons – so here it is, back and better than ever with a fresh look.
Once again, the kit gives a nod to a previous successful chapter in our history, with a classic collar and delicate single bands on the sleeves adding those special touches that make the design uniquely us.
Lifelong Wimbledon fan and kit designer Marc Jones said: “We launched black iris and gold last season as a two-year kit. Following the issues we experienced, we ended up with lots of supporters missing out on what was a very popular shirt, so it was always going to need a revisit.
“Whilst it feels familiar- which was of course the entire point of “going again” - I consider this version to be the full realisation of the design. As with the rest of the Umbro range, that’s down to having the freedom to develop the shirt working in tandem with our new suppliers.
“The eagle eyed amongst you will spot the shorts have been flipped to gold with iris trim, as have the socks. I look forward to the next two home games when the team will debut both the new home strip in the match with QPR and then against Portsmouth where the squad will play in the black iris ensemble.”
Our third kit will be on sale from 11am on Saturday 22 July, in our Club Shop and via our ONLINE STORE. This means you'll be able to wear it in time for our pre-season friendly against QPR!
