Yesterday saw our first-team squad and entire Club staffing departments come together to set a clear vision for what the future looks like at AFC Wimbledon.
Talks from our Club Chair Mick Buckley, Managing Director Danny Macklin and Head of Football Operations Craig Cope outlined aims and expectations as we move into 2023/24.
Whilst Club founders Ivor Heller, Kris Stewart, Marc Jones and Trevor Williams told the story of how we’ve written so much history since fans took control of the Dons.
There was also speeches from representatives of our Women’s team, AFC Wimbledon Foundation, Dons Local Action Group (DLAG) and Wimbledon in Sporting History (WiSH) – all aimed at providing our players with the knowledge and information on how their impact matters in our local community.
“Johnnie and myself thought it was a really important new initiative,” said Craig Cope. “This is obviously a special Club, with a unique background. It is vitally important that every player, member of staff and partner fully appreciates who and what they are representing. It is up to everyone associated with the Club now to write the next chapter in this incredible story.”
