Programme update

Looking ahead to the new season

18 July 2023

Buying a Matchday Programme has been a staple of supporters’ pre-game routines for as long as most of us can remember.

It’s ‘part of the furniture’ and for most fans, their matchdays wouldn’t be the same without it. It’s for this reason that we are looking to do all we can to secure its long-term future.

The harsh reality is that the Club loses a five-figure sum in production costs per season. Our sales are just above the average for League Two.

Taking into account the above facts, we will be committing to doing the following:

  • We will increase visibility of programme sellers and seek ways for fans to purchase easier in the Club Shop and at other locations around the ground.
  • Continue to improve content, with engaging and exclusive pieces being included within each programme.
  • Create more of a collectable season series.
  • Improve pre-game visibility via social content, match packs etc.

We will review sales throughout the first half of the season and if sales don’t improve strongly, consideration will be given for moving to a digital format. We must stress that we would only do this in consultation with the Dons Trust Board and PLC Board.

We will leave no stone unturned as we bid to increase sales and have a viable, not loss making programme, that fans purchase and in many cases continue to collect.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to Gary Jordan for his significant contribution as Editor of the Programme last season.
