CAREER PATHWAY
It’s not only football!
Students progress to higher education courses in Sport and Exercise sciences, offering the potential to progress into a career in the sports industry, for example as a coach, Fitness & Wellbeing Instructor, or PE teacher.
However, no stone will be left unturned in honing your football skills. You’ll receive coaching from professionally qualified staff with the Dons and the college, before showing what you can do out on the pitch – joining the men’s or women’s RUTC & AFC Wimbledon squad to compete in national leagues.
QUALIFICATION
The Football Academy provides students with the platform to develop their technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of their professional game.
The A level programme is split into two years. In the first year you will study Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Sport. For the second year, you will study Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma Sport. Upon completion of the two-year course, you will also have the opportunity to achieve the equivalent of three A levels while developing as a player.
Students will have the opportunity to develop academic and professional skills through training, which consists of technical and tactical development, strength and conditioning, and player game intelligence.
HOW TO APPLY

Trial dates are as follows:
- Wed, 23 Aug 2023 from 5.30 pm until 8 pm
- Wed, 30 August from 5.30 pm until 8 pm
Venue: Whitton Sports and Fitness Centre Percy Road Twickenham TW2 6JW.
To join the football Academy, you will need to pass the football trials, be 16-18 years old and have the required GCSE results for entry.
