We can confirm that Alex Woodyard has completed a free transfer to National League side York City.
The move brings an end to a Wimbledon career that has spanned close to three years, with ‘Woody’ clocking up 123 appearances during his time with us.
Alex wore the armband for the vast majority of his time at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, with his performances earning him recognition in the form of a Players’ Player of the Year award.
Head of Football Operations Craig Cope said: "Alex has given his all for the cause over the past few seasons as captain of the Club and he embarks on the next stage of his career with our very best wishes. We thank him for his service to AFC Wimbledon."
