Johnnie Jackson has called for our side to start punishing teams when we are in the ascendancy as we fell to a 2-1 loss at Doncaster Rovers.
Despite heading in behind at the break, Wimbledon came out with far more energy in the second-half and on the balance of play should have taken something from the game.
Nevertheless, it was sadly the same old story, as defensive mishaps cost us dearly in a first-half that our manager felt wasn’t up to the standards expected.

“First-half we were off our usual levels,” he said. “We regrouped at half-time after a few stern words. The opportunity at the end pretty much summed up our luck. I think taking a point would have been more than merited. We were the dominant team in the second-half, we created a lot of good chances.
“We were showing a lot of edginess. We made the change in order to get a different stimulus in the second-half. We wanted to get energy onto the pitch through Kasey (McAteer) and I think we did that. We looked a different team and were on the front foot.”
Conceding from set pieces has become an unwelcome habit for the Dons, with Johnnie admitting the team is paying the ultimate price in games that are in the balance.
“It’s about knowing your job and then doing it. We speak about it a lot, we practice it a lot and everyone knows their roles – it comes down to taking accountability and seeing your jobs through on the pitch. There’s been too many times when that hasn’t happened.”
With another away game to come against Newport County on Tuesday, the target is to bounce back quickly as we aim to finish the campaign strongly, but the gaffer pointed out that no one should be feeling sorry for themselves.
“I keep telling the boys that we’re a really good team and it’s important that they keep believing that,” he said. "We need to put the finishing touches on the good moments that we produce. We’re getting punished. We need to flip that around.
“In football no one feels sorry for you. In a few days we’ve got another game. The message to the boys is that they need to get their recoveries right, eat the correct food and do the right things to be able to go and bring the energy that we showed for half of the game today.”
Johnnie also confirmed that Paul Kalambayi missed today's game through injury.
