The Club confirms that Chris Gunter will miss our next two first-team matches after he joined up with the Wales national squad for the international window.
Following his retirement as a player at international level, Chris has become a part of Rob Page’s backroom staff with his role viewed as part of a transition into future coaching work.
It had been pre-agreed with the Club that Chris would be allowed to fulfil his wish to pursue coaching opportunities with Wales.
With this being in a coaching capacity, it does not count as an extra international call-up after Ali Al-Hamadi and Aaron Pierre joined up with Iraq and Grenada respectively.
Therefore our games at Barrow and at home to Walsall will go ahead as planned.
