Fans’ Forum May 2023

Highlights available now

4 May 2023

Our latest Fans’ Forum was well attended on Tuesday as fans and Club staff came together to discuss the current season.

The panel on the night consisted of Club Chair Mick Buckley, Managing Director Danny Macklin, Head of Football Operations Craig Cope, Manager Johnnie Jackson and Academy Manager Michael Hamilton.

Questions covered this season, our plans for the 2023/24 campaign and off-field matters such as the budget. We also heard from our newly appointed Chief Scout, Andy Thorn, on our player recruitment drive.

Watch highlights of the Fans’ Forum below.

Johnnie Jackson said: “We’re all dedicated to the cause. We’re dedicated to giving you guys – the heartbeat of the football club, the people that turn up every week – the team that you deserve.

“We’re really excited about the plans that we’ve got moving forwards. We will be working tirelessly to get it right and learn the lessons of this season. We want to get it to where you deserve.”

Mick Buckley said: “We want to grow our playing budget. We want to ensure we’re higher up the league in terms of budget. The PLC Board is meeting this week to finalise the budget for next year – we’re still optimistically going through every revenue line and looking at what kind of growth can be achieved.

“Danny and his team are building a business plan where we will grow our revenues quite significantly by utilising our stadium facilities. Going into next year we have to be looking to get as high up the table as we can with the money we’ve got. There’s lots of things we have learnt from this year.”

The Club will host a Fans’ Forum prior to the new season.
