Loan Watch: Morgs quick to pick up accolade

Welsh youngster makes instant impact at Woking

Our Welsh midfield prospect Morgan Williams has proved to be an immediate hit with the fans of National League Woking.

Morgs, who joined the Cardinals last month, has picked up their Player of the Month award for October as voted for by supporters. To date, he has now made seven appearances in all competitions for the Surrey club.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be awarded the Player of the Month for October," said Morgs. "It’s even more special that it’s voted for by the fans and the connection I’ve made with them through my performances in the time I’ve been here."

"I’ve hugely enjoyed my time on the pitch and at the club. We are in the middle of a really important run of games - including facing the league leaders tonight - and I’ll continue to give my all for the team while I’m here."

Morgan’s latest appearance came in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Oldham Athletic. Woking entertain Chesterfield tonight.

Winger Ryan McLean came on for the closing stages for Kidderminster Harriers, in their 1-0 defeat at home to Dagenham & Redbridge. That was his fourth appearance since joining towards the end of last month.

Defender Ben Mason continues to get considerable game time with Braintree Town. He came up with an assist in the midweek victory over Welling United, which the Iron won 4-1. They’re just a point outside the play-off places in National League South.

However, he also figured for the injury-hit Essex club at the weekend, as they exited the FA Trophy 3-0 at Gloucester City.

It’s a similar situation with centre-back Ethan Sutcliffe and his loan to Tonbridge Angels in the same division.

The young defender figured in a midweek victory, helping to keep a clean sheet as Tonbridge won 3-0 at Eastbourne Borough to continue climbing the table. Ethan was again involved at the weekend - this time in a Kent derby. However, on this occasion, Tonbridge were ultimately edged out on penalties to Hythe Town in the FA Trophy.

Forward Paris Lock was involved in Dover Athletic’s 1-0 defeat to Maidstone United, before he played in their defeat to Weymouth in the Trophy on Saturday - going out on penalties after the second round tie had finished 4-4 at The Crabble.
