Loan Watch: Marcel's joy after last-gasp winner!

Marcel Campbell cast aside injury frustrations on Saturday with a thrilling finish for his new side.

The attacking midfielder spent seven months on the sidelines having suffered a grade 3c hamstring injury, but he marked his second game on loan at Corinthian Casuals with a goal.

Receiving the ball with just seconds remaining, Marcel evaded a couple of challenges inside the penalty area, before he fired the ball across goal and high into the net.

“It was a frustrating time for me with my injury, watching from the sidelines during pre season, but it’s part and parcel of the game,” said Marcel after the 2-1 victory at Thatcham Town in the Isthmian South Central fixture.

“I’ve been working tremendously hard off the pitch and feel stronger than ever now - ready to push on and hopefully have more moments like Saturday, so that I show what I’m capable of. I know it’s only the start though and more work is needed both on and off the pitch in order to achieve this again consistently.”

Two of our talented youngsters face FA Cup fourth qualifying round replays this week.

Morgan Williams came on as a second-half substitute for Woking in their goalless draw at Hemel Hempstead Town. The replay is at the Surrey club on Tuesday night.

The Welsh midfielder entered the action after 63 minutes and impressed manager Darren Sarll on the 3G surface and he's hoping for a starting place second time around.

Ben Mason will also have to do it all again with Braintree Town tomorrow evening at Chesham United, following Saturday’s goalless draw at Cressing Road. The defender started the tie and was again among those put up for the online man-of-the-match vote afterwards.

Forward Paris Lock is determined to help Dover Athletic climb up National League South after he figured in their FA Cup exit, going out 1-0 at Eastleigh.

Defender Ethan Sutcliffe and forward Quaine Bartley weren’t involved in King’s Lynn Town’s 2-1 victory at Darlington in National League North. Defender Will Nightingale (Ross County) and striker Zach Robinson (Dundee) are due to resume with the Scottish Premiership this Saturday, after what will have been three weeks of no action.
