Johnnie and Terry commit to Wimbledon

Managerial duo extend stay

8 February 2024

We are delighted to announce that both Johnnie Jackson and Terry Skiverton have committed their long-term futures to the Club.

Our Manager and Assistant Manager have both put pen to paper on two-year contracts, extending their stays with Wimbledon until 2026.

This comes as a major boost for the Dons at a time when we are well in the fight for a place in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.

After arriving at the Club in May 2022, Johnnie has gone on to construct a squad - in collaboration with our Head of Football Operations Craig Cope and Terry – that not only offers an exciting brand of attacking football but also an identity that our supporters can relate to.

Speaking after the completion of the extensions, Johnnie said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be honest. I’m really pleased, I feel like we’re only just getting started with the work we’ve been doing here over the past 18 months. We’re closing in on that two-season mark. We want to continue to shape the football club and the team.”

Terry said: “This is a really important step that clarifies things and shows that we as a club are planning for the future of Wimbledon.”

AFCW PLC Chair, Mick Buckley said: “Johnnie was our first manager for a while who came without a Wimbledon connection. He has quickly become one of us, understanding the hard work, preparation, togetherness and resilience that can give us the edge. The board sees a real value to continuity. We are delighted that Johnnie and Terry have extended their commitment to the Club and working together with Craig Cope, we look forward to them continuing the progress made over the last 18 months.”

Johnnie and Terry gave an extensive interview when they spoke to Rob Cornell. Listen in full below.
