After hosting plenty of midweek matches recently, we’re all set to stage a completely different event – and it’s another first for AFC Wimbledon.
The Open Iftar – a celebration of Ramadan 2024 – will be hosted in the Viticult Lounge from 5 pm on Wednesday.
Omar Salha, Founder and CEO of Ramadan Tent Project, said: “We are delighted to bring Open Iftar to AFC Wimbledon this Ramadan 2024 for the very first time.
“Football and Ramadan brings people together over shared experiences, human connections, and stories. We are thrilled to share this important celebration with football supporters and fans embedded in the community of SW17 from all backgrounds, representing a community of communities."
The event will be hosted by our matchday PA announcer Chris Phillips from 5 pm and it will feature several speakers talking about Football and Ramadan, including Dons Trust Board member Kevin Rye, before prayers, and then food will be distributed.
