50.01: THE NEXT CHAPTER FOR AFC WIMBLEDON

AFC Wimbledon is a miracle of modern football, but to stay ahead of rising football inflation, we must evolve. The board strongly recommends a move to 50.01 Majority Fan Control. A model that keeps fans in the driving seat while unlocking the strategic investment needed to secure our long-term viability.

THE CHOICE BEFORE US

AFC Wimbledon faces a choice between managing a competitive decline or unlocking sustainable growth. While matchday revenues are at record highs, "football inflation" has created a £2m annual operating gap. The board is proposing a move to 50.01 Majority Fan Control.

THE VOTE

The Dons Trust is asking members to lower the Trust’s minimum shareholding to 50.01% of voting rights and remove the 15% individual investment cap.

THE BIG NUMBER (18 Months)

Internal forecasts show that without a new investment model, the club’s professional viability is at risk within 18 months. We currently rely on "Football Fortune" (player sales) to cover a £2m annual operating loss.

THE VIEW FROM THE BOARD

The Trust and PLC boards argue we cannot build a future on uncertainty. League One losses average £5.2m annually. By removing the 15% cap, we can attract "Anchor Partners" who bring significant capital in exchange for a meaningful minority stake.

THE SAFEGUARD

The Trust exercises its 50.01% as a single Block Vote. A minority investor cannot "pick off" members to override the fans.
