Duo pencilled in for Premier League Cup tie on Tuesday

AFC Wimbledon take on Wigan Athletic under-23s in the qualifying rounds of the Premier League Cup next Tuesday, 23 August, kick-off 7pm at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Left back Jon Meades (left ankle) and right sided midfielder George Francomb, pictured, (right knee) are expected to return from injury and figure for Alan Reeves’ development side in what should be a strong Dons line-up.

Wimbledon fans are welcome to attend with an admission price of £5 for adults while under-18s can get in free.

Teams can field up to three overage outfield players and one overage goalkeeper in the Premier League Cup, which was won by West Ham last season.

This will be the fourth season for the competition, formerly known as the Under-21 Premier League Cup, with the Dons having reached the second qualifying round on two occasions previously.

In 2013/14, AFC Wimbledon lost 4-3 to Queens Park Rangers at Woking FC and the following season they went out at Welling United FC to Charlton Athletic at the same stage. Last season the Dons lost 2-1 to Plymouth Argyle in the first qualifying round.
