Will Nightingale has been nominated for the Football League World’s League One Player of the Month award – and there’s still time to vote for our home-grown defender!
Will has been integral to Wimbledon’s recent improvement defensively, as stated by the supporting evidence on the FLW website, which said: “Will Nightingale has looked a man reborn under Mark Robinson and helped make Wimbledon a difficult side to beat. The centre-back made 33 clearances and won 33 aerial duels in March – a month that has seen his side lose just once and pick up eight points that could be vital to their survival hopes.”
Our centre-back is one of six nominated for the award, with the full complement as follows:
- Will Nightingale (Wimbledon)
- Luke O’Nien (Sunderland)
- Matt Ingram (Hull City)
- Sammie Szmodics (Peterborough United)
- Conor Washington (Charlton Athletic)
- Jerry Yates (Blackpool)
Voting closes at 9.00 am on Wednesday morning, so vote for Will now! Go to https://fan-awards.com/ to vote.
The picture above shows Will Nightingale being interviewed at the training ground, as part of a feature for Sky Sports. Mark Robinson and Xavier Wiggins were also interviewed today and the feature will be broadcast later this week on the channel.
